Outlook Sessions: Trends Influencing the Future of Sustainable Forest Management
The Institute convenes annual "futuring" sessions to examine important
ecological, economic and social trends likely to affect the future of
forests and forestry. Major factors such as globalization and
technology are quietly reshaping the environment in which industry,
government, communities and conservation organizations are pursuing the
goal of sustainable natural resource management.
Our goal is to catalyze discussion among different forest stakeholders
about important trends, and stimulate strategic thinking about how the
forestry community can best approach emerging issues and future
challenges.
