Forest Community News: The National Perspective
Forest Community News (FCN) is a free monthly electronic
newsletter that focuses on delivering national-level updates from the
Administration and Congress on issues that are relevant to
community-based forestry. It also provides links to upcoming
events, recent publications, and funding opportunities.
FCN is
edited by the Pinchot Institute and American Forests, and is
distributed on behalf of our two organizations in addition to the
Communities Committee of the 7th American Forest Congress and the
National Network of Forest Practitioners. To sign up for FCN,
please contact Laura Schweitzer of American Forests at
lschweitzer@amfor.org.

Multiparty Monitoring within the Community-Forests Restoration Program (NM)
In 2004, the Institute led efforts in developing parts of the multiparty monitoring protocol associated with the Community-Forests Restoration Program in New Mexico .
With partners like the Ecological Restoration Institute, the National
Forest Foundation, and the USDA Forest Service, our work developed into
comprehensive guidelines how participants in the program can
effectively design a multiparty monitoring process. Click here to access the Monitoring and Assessment Guidelines.
