How can communities, agencies, and conservation partners work together to restore healthy watersheds? These proceedings document a July 2000 workshop on the Clearwater National Forest that brought together more than 60 participants from government, science, industry, and community and conservation organizations. Drawing on field visits and discussions, the report examines practical obstacles to restoration, including funding, contracting, regulation, workforce training, and monitoring. It explores opportunities to strengthen partnerships and connect ecological restoration with community needs, offering a historical perspective on collaborative approaches to watershed stewardship.
